YAAF Fundraising Letter

Dear Reader,

Imagine if you had a dream: a dream to do something you lived and breathed, something that was in your blood. What if you couldn’t reach it, not because you weren’t talented and determined, but because your family struggled to put food on the table, and your community couldn’t afford the facilities and programs you needed? This is the reality for many African youth who have promising athletic talent but are unable to access coaching and a proper education.

Right now, an African child is probably wearing out his only pair of shoes, playing the sport he loves. You can help give a girl or boy like him the chance to pursue his athletic career, along with an education that will help bring his family out of poverty.

We envision a world where no one is denied opportunities due to their age, race, gender, family composition, income, geographic location, or any other reason. We need your help to make young athletes’ dreams come true.

The Young African Athletes Foundation (YAAF) is proud to support disadvantaged and underprivileged African youth with school sports programs, field maintenance, and athletic scholarships that provide youth the chance to receive an education and pursue athletics as a career. Our promising young athletes are determined to make the most of the athletic opportunities and education and to give back to their communities.

Thanks to our donors and school partners, we have helped over 39 African children go to school in their hometowns and helped nine young athletes receive academic scholarships and visas to study in the US. Their stories are uplifting and inspiring. You can read some of them at www.yaafoundation.org.

Our efforts are supported by American schools, and we need your help. Organize a fundraiser, create a scholarship for YAAF youth, or make a donation of any amount at www.yaafoundation.org. Every contribution helps students access the education and opportunities they deserve.
