Thank you for supporting me YAA Foundation.

My name is Cedric D., I am from Yaoundé, Cameroon. I was born in a big family with eight siblings. I started loving sport at the young age, soccer was my first love and I switched for basketball around the age of eleven. Since the first day I touched a basketball I knew that this is what I want to do for the rest of my life. It has never been easy for me, there has always been the financial struggle of my family. Going to evening classes because that was affordable for my parents and I was selling food cooked by my mom during the day. But my parents did their best for us to go to school and have an education. My dream is to make it so I will be able to help my family back home, I also want to be an inspiration for my younger siblings and community. I want to show them that nothing is impossible as long you put your heart and commitment to the hard work, you can accomplish anything you dream of. “Never dream small”.

YAA Foundation made my dream come true when they selected me among others from Yaoundé to Texas- US for a scholarship program that would impact my life. I also want this to have positive impact on the lives of other poor families and children out there. It means the world to me. Now, I can go to school full time and play basketball. Thank you!
